Nonprofit Organization Returns to Boston to Host Second Annual Corporate Summit

   

ATLANTA, GA (April 29, 2008) – GOAL, a nonprofit organization that provides experiential programs that build self-esteem and self-awareness in adolescent girls, is once again partnering with Raytheon Company to present the second annual Girls’ Leadership Summit – Inspiring Girls to Lead. The summit will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 and will bring together 70 middle school girls from the greater Boston area to discover their leadership potential.

GOAL CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF SERVICE TO GIRLS

Nonprofit begins second decade with move to expanded facilities in Decatur

ATLANTA, GA (February 29, 2008) – GOAL – A Girl’s Journey of Growth marks its 10th year of service to adolescent girls in 2008.  The nonprofit has seen tremendous growth in recent years, with the number of girls served more than doubling between 2005 and 2008.  This growth has led GOAL to begin its second decade of service to adolescent girls with a move to expanded facilities in downtown Decatur.  The “GOAL House” at 124 Church Street in Decatur will enable the organization to continue its growth and will create new opportunities for collaboration with other organizations located in Decatur.

GERMAN MARSHALL FUND SELECTS 53 AMERICAN MARSHALL MEMORIAL FELLOWS FOR 2008

GOAL CEO Gail Rothman amongst leaders selected for prestigious fellowship

   

WASHINGTON, DC (December 12, 2007) — Fifty-three emerging American leaders representing 17 states and the District of Columbia have been awarded the prestigious Marshall Memorial Fellowship (MMF) for 2008. They will each spend 23 days in Europe visiting institutions, societies and cultures and learning about economic, political and social issues facing the United States and Europe.

GOAL ACQUIRES SISTASPACE, EXPANDS OFFERINGS TO INCLUDE MENTORING

 

ATLANTA (September 19, 2007) – GOAL, an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization that serves adolescent girls nationwide, recently acquired SistaSpace Collective, Inc., a seven-year-old nonprofit organization with an emphasis on mentoring adolescent and teen girls. GOAL provides girl-centered, experiential programs, training and expertise to organizational partners serving girls in early adolescence. By acquiring SistaSpace, GOAL will add a mentoring module to its existing curriculum that includes activities on creating effective relationships, developing leadership skills, expressing voice and more.

Partnership Marks Nonprofit Organization’s First Major Corporate Summit

 

ATLANTA (February 27, 2007) – GOAL, a nonprofit organization that provides experiential programs that build self-awareness in adolescent girls, is partnering with Raytheon to present  Girls’ Leadership Summit – Inspiring Girls to Lead on Saturday, March 10.  The summit will bring together 60 middle school girls from the greater Boston area to learn, share and celebrate the inherent qualities that girls and women possess, preparing and propelling them to serve and to succeed in all levels of leadership.

GOAL PARTNERS WITH SNOW FAMILY FOUNDATION AND TORAH DAY SCHOOL

Jewish themes to be incorporated into GOAL curriculum for middle school girls

ATLANTA (February 8, 2007) – GOAL, a nonprofit organization that provides experiential programs that build self-awareness in adolescent girls, has received funding from the Snow Family Foundation to develop a version of its curriculum that incorporates Jewish themes.  The curriculum will be introduced to students at Torah Day School of Atlanta beginning in the fall of 2007.
