GOAL, INC., TO HONOR OUTSTANDING ATLANTA WOMEN AT GOING FOR THE GOAL LUNCHEON

(September 8, 2004-Atlanta, GA) GOAL, Inc. (Girls' Opportunities for Adventure and Leadership), will honor four of Atlanta's most outstanding women for their leadership and their impact on women and girls in our community at the "Going For the GOAL" luncheon on October 13, 2004, 11:30 am at Maggiano's Little Italy in Buckhead.

Secretary of State Cathy Cox, our keynote speaker as well as an award recipient, is serving her second term as Georgia's first female Secretary of State. As a result of her efforts, Georgia has become a national leader in election reform.

Emily Ellison is the visionary and founder of Atlanta Girls' School, where she served as the Chair of the school's Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2002. She is the author of three books of fiction and the co-editor of an anthology of contemporary American Literature.

Ayesha Khanna, currently CEO of the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, has brought a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation that has helped to shape a new strategic direction and vision for the organization since she joined the YWCA in 1998. She will soon be joining the United Way as their Chief Operating Officer.

Valencia Adams, Chief Diversity Officer for BellSouth Corporation, is responsible for the company's diversity and inclusion efforts and oversees inclusion strategy development and implementation across BellSouth.

"We are really excited to be able to honor these four women for their accomplishments and leadership within our community," said Kaffie McCullough, Executive Director of GOAL.
