(April 6, 2004-Atlanta, GA) GOAL, Inc. (Girls' Opportunities for Adventure and Leadership), will host a parenting workshop by Kaffie McCullough, Executive Director of GOAL, on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 7:00 p.m., at Atlanta Girls' School, 3254 Northside Parkway NW, Atlanta, GA. In response to requests from parents and community members for real-life strategies on parenting and working with adolescent girls GOAL has created The GOAL Lecture Series. This event is the first in a series of lectures and workshops that will provide strategies, information, and practical advice on the "growing-up-girl" experience.

Kaffie McCullough has presented numerous workshops on communication and parenting issues during adolescence. As a former psychotherapist she brings extensive knowledge about adolescent development and parenting during the turbulent teens. Try Trust! Building Competence through Teachable Moments will focus on: Teachable Moments-What are They and How to Use Them, Strategies to Use When Communicating with Your Daughter, and How to Avoid Power Struggles. Parents will be encouraged to participate and be active in learning and applying these concepts.

Admission to the event is $10 with pre-registration before the day of the event and $12 at the door. Contact GOAL at 404-633-9413 to register or email Yaisha@GoalOnline.org.
